Buoyancy Compensator (BC) or Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) is one of the most critical devices in scuba diving - it gives you the ability to hover and maintain your neutral buoyancy underwater by adjusting the volume of gas in a BCD bladder. It also keeps you positively buoyant on the surface when needed. There are two main types of BCDs - jacket type BCD and back lift BCD.

Jacket type BCD provides inflatable areas at the back as well as the sides and will act like a life-jacket on the surface. Jacket type BCD has been the tool of choice mostly by recreational divers offering excellent stability and versatility. Jacket type BCD can be also gender-specific and therefore offer an excellent fit in most sizes for men and women.
