Musto BR2 Fabric Technology

BR2 is Musto's waterproof rating for fabric. Garments with BR2 rating feature fully seam-taped construction, ensuring you remain dry and comfortable even during prolonged periods of torrential rain.

What is BR2 Fabric?

Musto BR2 fabric is primarily used in sailing, equestrian, and expedition clothing. This technology offers the essential weather protection needed by sailors, horse riders, and adventurers to perform in extreme weather conditions over extended periods.

Musto assesses the waterproofness of its fabric using a hydrostatic waterhead test. In this test, the fabric is tightly stretched over a tube, which is then filled with water. The water level is measured until leakage occurs after 24 hours. The height of the water column, measured in millimetres (mm), indicates the hydrostatic waterhead.

The Benefits of BR2

  • Completely Waterproof in Persistent Showers
  • Fully Tapes Seams
  • Breathable
  • Lightweight
  • Windproof

Musto determines the waterproofness of its fabric using a hydrostatic waterhead. This is measured by pulling the fabric tightly over a tube. The tube is then filled with water until water begins to leak through the fabric after a 24 hour period. The height of the water column, in millimetres, is the hydrostatic waterhead measurement.

Product Features
