Apeks Regulator Package: MTX-RC + Miflex Gauges + BCD Hose

The MTX-RC takes everything that makes the MTX-R one of the most capable cold-water regulators on the consumer market and adds something the original deliberately left out — diver-adjustable fine-tuning. Where the MTX-R is factory tuned and fixed to meet the demands of the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit extreme cold-water test, the MTX-RC gives you that same battle-hardened engineering foundation with the freedom to dial in performance to suit your own diving. Paired with your choice of Miflex gauge setup and a Miflex BCD hose, this package delivers a complete, precision breathing system ready to connect straight to your existing rig.

At the heart of the package is the Apeks MTX-RC Regulator Set, designed and manufactured in the UK. The first stage is built around a satin-plated brass body wrapped in heat-exchanging ribs for maximum thermal performance, with a breakthrough over-moulded endcap and environmental diaphragm that actively prevents ice build-up and protects internal components from contamination — the same innovative cold-water defence system found on the MTX-R. A ribbed diaphragm clamp adds further heat exchange in extreme conditions, and the unique over-balanced diaphragm design delivers increasing medium pressure gas at a faster rate than ambient as you descend, giving you superior breathing performance at depth. Five medium-pressure ports — four of which are mounted on a rotating turret for improved hose orientation — and two angled high-pressure ports give full flexibility for hose routing and transmitter fitting. A double swivel hose, easy one-hand-release handwheel and high-flow end port beneath a protective cap round off a first stage engineered without compromise. Available in DIN (300 bar), Yoke (232 bar) and M26 (300 bar O2) configurations, and tested for octopus use to EN250A at 60 metres in cold water. The second stage is where the MTX-RC distinguishes itself from its sibling. An oversized breathing effort adjuster on the side of the housing lets you increase the effort required to open the pneumatically balanced valve, while an ergonomic venturi lever above it controls airflow direction within the second stage — either towards the mouthpiece or back towards the diaphragm to help close the valve. A large heat exchanger on the hose inlet warms incoming air before it reaches the second stage, working alongside the patented internal heat exchanger to deliver a consistently comfortable breathe in cold conditions. Protective bumpers guard the most vulnerable points from impacts and scratches, the innovative DCE system lets you switch between small and large exhaust tees without tools — both supplied — and a reversible design accommodates left or right-hand gas supply. A large purge button, flexible nylon braided hose and Comfo-bite mouthpiece complete a second stage built for serious, repeated cold-water use. No single-use plastic in the packaging.

Completing the breathing system is the Apeks MTX-RC Octopus, built to the same exacting cold-water standard as the primary second stage. Highly visible and straightforward to operate, it provides a dependable backup air source your buddy can reach for with confidence.

Connecting your regulator to your BCD is the Miflex Xtreme BCD Hose, fitted with a standard 3/8" quick-release coupler suitable for most BCDs, wings and drysuits. Flexible, lightweight and flow-rate tested to EN 1809:2014 standards, it routes cleanly and reliably across any setup.
