Mikes’ Dive Store has signed up to contribute to UK marine conservation activities by supporting the charity, Sea-Changers. Mike’s, a leading and long established diving retailer will donate 1% of the value of all of its online sales to the charity. Customers will be invited to match the company’s generosity and make their own donations too.
The money will feed into Sea-Changers’ grant fund which is distributed to UK based marine conservation projects. Mike’s Dive Store has chosen to demonstrate its already strong environmental commitment. The company joins a growing community of Sea-Changer businesses and individuals who are passionate about giving something back to the seas they love.
Sea-Changers will distribute the donated money, in accordance with their funding policy, to a range of projects engaged in: direct marine clean up action, education and awareness-raising about marine conservation issues, species and habitat protection, and conservation research. Many of the projects they fund undertake grassroots community conservation work that simply would not take place without the Sea-Changers grant.
Steve Brown, MD at Mike’s Dive Store said: “The UK’s seas give Mike’s Dive Store’s customers a rich variety of opportunities to enjoy their sport. We want to play our part in making sure there are healthy oceans and coastlines for future generations of divers to enjoy and learn from. We are pleased to support Sea-Changers in their work.”
Rachel Lopata, Co-Founder of Sea-Changers said: “It’s great to be working with Mike’s Dive Store and to receive their fantastic support. Sea-Changers was founded by divers and we hope that our fellow divers will spend at Mike’s Dive Store online, safe in the knowledge that they are also supporting UK marine conservation projects. We guarantee that 100% of every donation we receive via Mike’s Dive Store’s website will get passed on to support much needed marine conservation work.”
