The Mares Quad Dive Computer has a very large, easy to read LCD segment display which shows all the essential dive information even at a quick glance. Even though the screen is very big the Mares Quad is actually quite slim on the wrist so it doesn't become cumbersome or a snag hazard whilst diving.
The screen is split up into clearly defined sections and are labelled on the right hand side of the screen for quick reference. The top section displays depth information with maximum depth on the right and current depth on the left. The middle section shows decompression information as well as decompression stop details. The bottom section displays time information including dive time. The left hand side of the screen has an ascent rate graph against a colour coded scale to indicate safe ascent speed.
The Quad Dive Computer has a four button navigation system and simple menus that make navigating and setting up the computer very easy. The left hand buttons (ENTER and ESC) allow the user to go in and out of menus as well as confirm or cancel selections. The buttons on the right (UP and DOWN) move through the menus and configurations screens.
The Mares Quad has three operating modes, Air, Nitrox and Bottom Timer and supports up to three different gas mixes in Nitrox mode for switching during a dive. The dive computer is PC compatible with the optional interface cable to download your dive profile data to your PC.
One final handy feature of the Quad Dive Computer is that the larger elastomer strap can be easily removed by pushing out the strap retention pins which leaves four anchor points visible on the back of the computer. These points can be used to loop through and create a bungee strap if preferred.
