The Carbon 42 Regulator from Mares is finally here and Yes - we are impressed - no other regulator even comes close in terms of weight. The Mares Carbon has a second stage made from 100% carbon which makes it 65% lighter than a metal second stage but still with maximum thermal conductivity. This makes the Carbon 42 ideal for diving in particularly cold waters.


Features

Tri material valve created to optimize performance, safety, and reliability.
Dynamic flow control minimises the intermediate pressure drop during inhalation, making it possible to use a simpler and more reliable second stage.
Vortex assisted design conveys air to the mouthpiece creating a swirling vortex with a low pressure area in center that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation, for very sensitive and easy breathing at all depths.
A mesh Grid reduces the pressure of water flowing onto the second stage diaphragm and minimizes free-flow.
Suitable for use in extreme cold water.
Fluid Dynamic Deflector is engineered to receive and properly direct the airflow from the by-pass tube to the mouthpiece to deliver natural and effortless breathing.
Superflex Hose provides exceptional softness and is extremely light weight which guarantees the maximum freedom of movement.
Carbon technology provides exceptional mechanical resistance and is extraordinarily light weight which makes the carbon regulator perfect for meeting the needs of the most demanding divers, for all uses and any requirement. The high thermal conductivity of carbon guarantees natural breathing, reducing troublesome dry mouth.
