2-3mm Thick Wetsuits

Diving in the tropics does occasionally lend itself to wearing just a rash vest and board shorts.  Thin wetsuits or skins however can prolong your dive time by giving you that extra layer of warmth.  They also provide you with protection from hazards such as jellyfish, stinging corals and sunburn.  They are very versatile and can often be a multi-use suit for kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and surfing. Skinsuits tend to be neutrally buoyant and are often made of hyper-allergenic material.

A shorty can be used on its own for warm water diving and snorkelling or layered up as an over-suit for extra exposure protection.  They are compact for travelling, great for pool use and you will feel the benefit in upwards of around 26 degrees.  It’s always worth remembering that the temperature at the surface does increase the deeper you go, so consider a thicker shorty depending on the destination you are visiting.
